Every person who has walked through Hazera’s doors has played a unique role in shaping the company’s path. In this Heritage Edition, we continue to look back and spotlight the dedicated people whose work has left a lasting mark on our story.
Today, we meet Adi Kadmon who joined Hazera in 2003. His professional journey reflects not only a deep commitment to agriculture but also a spirit of growth, collaboration, and innovation that continues to define Hazera.
How did you start your career at Hazera?
“I joined Hazera in 2003 through Natan Bar Shavit, We met through joint work in the field when I was a representative for a pesticide company. Natan approached me and said they were looking for someone like me, and referred me to Zion Barel, the manager of the Israeli market. That’s how I began — as a sales representative in the Israeli market, managing a region.”
How did your career develop?
“I started as a sales representative and regional manager in the local market, and later advanced to additional roles. Zion noticed that I stood out in promoting varieties, leading trials, and working in an organized manner. After a year, I moved to the role of Product Development — a position that did not exist before in the Israeli market.
Later, I also worked on other crops and with additional companies which we sold their varieties”
How did your career evolve within Hazera?
“Over time, Zion, who was the local market manager, involved me in promoting varieties in other markets as well — the Balkans, Morocco, Greece, and Turkey. I did this alongside my role in the local market. Later, I also took responsibility as a product manager for lettuce, and afterwards, for pepper as well.”
What is a common myth in your field that is not true?
“One of the common myths is that there is no need for agronomic expertise in promoting varieties and selling vegetable seeds — that you can succeed without understanding the product. In my opinion, the opposite is true: agronomic expertise is essential for success.”
Which qualities helped you succeed?
“Organized work, continuous learning, direct and open communication with local teams, and maintaining open communication channels — so that everyone can ask, exchange opinions, and learn. It is also important to maintain organized work techniques, clear foundations, and transparency.”
Tell us about a project you are especially proud of.
“One of the standout projects was in Romania, where I insisted that the local teams fill out not only technical reports but also express a professional opinion. I gave them the confidence to express their views, understanding that they know the field best. This is an approach I applied in all the markets I worked in — to give local people the tools and confidence to express their opinions, and to know that they always have someone to turn to for help.”
How does the slogan “Growing Together” connect to your work?
“The slogan ‘Growing Together’ truly reflects the way I worked — company staff, representatives, and customers all develop together, learn from each other, and progress together.”
